A netizen was alarmed when he came across a video of students throwing themselves on top of one another, in an act known as 'the tau pok'.
The two-minute clip showed five students in a classroom stacking themselves on top of a student who was lying face-down on the ground.
Another student standing near them 'pressed' their bodies down for additional impact, and weight.
The actions were repeated with another two more 'victims' from the same class, before the clip ended.
According to the netizen, the incident took place at a secondary school in the east.
Lives in danger?
In an email to citizen journalism website, STOMP, he noted that the practice of 'body-stacking', is dangerous and could put students' lives in danger.
Presumably, the one who is at the bottom bearing the full weight of the others could suffer the most serious injuries - such as a fractured rib.
Why do students engage in such activities? Perhaps, they view their actions as 'harmless fun'.
However, physical scars may not be the only aftermath of such acts - as in the case of the incident involving an Anglo-Chinese Junior College student who was tied up and humiliated on her birthday.
Even if one is not physically harmed, the emotional hurt such activities cause could be equally, or if not more damaging.
