KOTA KINABALU, MALAYSIA - A 32-year-old school teacher has been arrested for allegedly sodomising seven of his students.

The seven were 15-year-old Form Three students of a government secondary school here, who lodged seven police reports in Karamunsing.

They alleged that the incidents began some time in May, claiming they were lured by the teacher to attend 'extracurricular activities'.

They claimed that the incidents took place either at the teacher's apartment or in motel rooms.

The unmarried teacher, a Sabahan, surrendered to police on Thursday evening and the boys who reported the incidents have been sent for medical examinations.

Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Sofi Zakaria confirmed the arrest of a man in connection with the cases but did not make any reference to his profession.

'We are recording the statements of the complainants and are questioning the suspect,' ACP Ahmad Sofi said when asked why the reports were only lodged a few months after the alleged incidents.
