Indonesia exams still on despite court ruling

JAKARTA: Indonesia's Education Minister has said that national examinations will be conducted next year in spite of a Supreme Court decision earlier this week that appeared to put them in doubt.

Education Minister Mohammad Nuh said the Supreme Court did not state anything about cancelling the tests, the Jakarta Globe reported.

He said the court called on the government to improve the quality of teachers, education access and information in Indonesia, 'and for the past three years we have been doing it'.
