Introduced
But despite the challenges, a "handful of primary schools" have already introduced flippa ball into their swimming lessons, including Anglo-Chinese School (Primary), although no school has made it as a CCA yet, said Madam Jeanne Tan, Senior Specialist CCA (Sports).
"Schools have the autonomy to introduce flippa ball as a CCA, as they have the autonomy to design and plan their CCA programmes," she added.
"They can seek MOE's endorsement to introduce an activity as a CCA if it is organised and has a sustained 30-week programme that provides students with an all-year involvement.
"Alternatively, it can also be carried out as a student-initiated activity."
Both CCAB and SWP are hoping to organise more flippa ball-related events this year and to attract the attendance of more primary school students.
Said CCAB's Tan: "Last year we managed to get St Andrew's Junior School down to one of the flippa ball carnivals.
"Hopefully this year we can get more schools to come for such events."
