7 days of play on just S$10

DAY 1

How can the Mona Lisa - a seemingly straightforward portrait of a woman - enthrall so many people?

To get a little insight into the arts, visit the Singapore Arts Museum (SAM) during its free visiting hours of noon to 2pm on weekdays.

The museum is currently home to several exhibits, including one on life, society and traditions in South-east Asia.

When you are through, head to a fast-food joint or the nearby National Library and start on your homework. If you need a snack, some places serve a soft-serve ice-cream that costs just 50 cents.

You might be able to use some of the information that you discovered at the SAM in one of your assignments.

Visit www.singart.com for more info on the museum.

TOTAL EXPENDITURE: 50 cents (depending on whether you like ice-cream)
