Mum of ACS boy who was hit lodges police report

By Leonard Lim

THE St Andrew's School rugby player who hit an opponent in the midst of Monday's post-game fracas has been summoned by the police to give a statement.

After giving his version of events yesterday, SAS student Daniel Tan was said to be distraught but keen to move on, according to insiders from the school.

Mary Wee, the mother of the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) boy who was struck by Daniel, had lodged a police report on Wednesday about the post-match clash.

ACS boy's mother did not over-react: Poll
By Jonathan Wong

FILING a police report for an altercation during or following a rugby game might sound like an over-reaction to some but a quick straw poll among Singaporeans revealed that most approve of the actions of the injured party.

Twenty people, ranging from students and parents to sports officials and teachers said Mary Wee, the mother of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) rugby player Leonard Wee, was fully justified in filing the report on Wednesday.

It led to Daniel Tan - the St Andrew's School student involved in the altercation with her son - being called up by the police to make a statement. Leonard suffered injuries to his mouth.
