LEUKAEMIA patient Lim Jia Li suffered a relapse last year, although she had gone through two bone marrow transplants.
Now, the Republic Polytechnic student is waiting to find a matching donor for another transplant.
Hope is not lost yet.
A group of Temasek Polytechnic (TP) students have organised a four-day drive to sign up potential bone marrow donors for Miss Lim, 22.
They were moved to act after reading about her in The New Paper last month.
In the last four years, two of Miss Lim's three sisters have donated their bone marrow to her. Her other sister's bone marrow does not match.
Last November, Republic Poly raised $7,000 for her medical expenses.
Despite her medical problems, Miss Lim has maintained a positive outlook on life.
It was her optimism that impressed Jesslyn Tan, 19, president of the TP Community Service Club.
The third-year psychology student told The New Paper: "Jia Li is just a poly student like us, yet she has to defer her studies because of her illness."
She and her club members worked with the Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP) and the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre for the donor drive.
