JAKARTA - A HEADLESS corpse was found on a public bus in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, police said on Monday.

The torso, arms and feet were found stuffed in a bag and tucked under a seat on a crosstown bus last week, police official Yayat Popon Ruhyat said.

'We have gathered several witnesses who were on the bus who saw the carrier of the bag,' he said.

The body, which was in a total of 13 pieces, bore a tattoo of a tiger's head which police hope will help identify the victim, Mr Ruhyat said.

'We have spread the pictures of the tattoo across East Jakarta such as in bus terminals, markets and other public places,' he said. -- AFP
