The China Post/Asia News Network

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- An argument between two groups at a KTV yesterday left a young man with a paralyzed tendon; in addition, two men slashed a passerby for an alleged glance in Taipei County.

The two groups had a quarrel around 3 a.m. in a KTV in Taipei City's Wu-fen-pu, but left before the police arrived, said the police.

The six suspects then saw the other group on a cab on their way home. The suspects dragged the group out of the taxi and slashed them with a machete. A 21-year-old was cut on his right palm and injured his tendon. The other incident happened in Zhonghe City in Taipei County.

Two suspects attacked a man, surnamed Jiang, with a knife. Jiang's palm was cut off and was still missing. The incident might have resulted from Jiang's glance at the two, said the police.

The authorities vowed to apprehend the suspects in both cases as soon as possible.
