STI opens 1.61% lower

>Singapore stocks opened lower with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 47.8 points, or 1.61 per cent, to 2,930.11.

Some 28.2 million shares exchanged hands. Losers beat gainers 120 to 15.
