These new attractions not only spiced up Singapore's city landscape, they offer a whole range of unique services and facilities.

In fact, some of them have been cited as favourite attractions by youths in Singapore!

With the global financial recession in 2007 and 2008, foreign tourist arrivals dipped.

Thus, there was a move to promote domestic tourism among locals.
