SINGAPORE - Communist party secretary Mr Wang Yang will be in Singapore on an official visit from today.
Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guangdong Provincial Committee, Mr Wang Yang was invited by Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Teo Chee Hean to visit Singapore.
Mr Wang will be in Singapore from June 3 to 5. It will be his second official visit to Singapore in his current capacity.
DPM Teo will host Secretary Wang and his delegation to a welcome lunch, while Minister (PMO) Lim Swee Say will be hosting dinner. Secretary Wang will receive briefings from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star), National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the People's Association (PA).
He will also visit One North and view developments in the Marina Bay area.
During his visit, Mr Wang will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
He will also attend a high-level dialogue session organised by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore entitled "IE Singapore Global Conversations" with the theme "Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration: Software for Guangzhou Knowledge City".
