Local shuttler Ronald Susilo was defeated by Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei, 13-21, 14-21 in the Men's Singles Round of 32.

Susilo, labelled the "giant-killer" after upsetting China's legendary Lin Dan in the Athens Olympics in 2004, was put down by the world no. 2 in 38 minutes.

Winner Lee Chong Wei will face either Kestutis Navickas of Lithuania or Stanislav Pukhov of Russia in the third round.

"I was feeling a little stiff since this was the first match. But after taking the lead, from 9-9 to 13-9, I cooled down and was more relaxed," said Lee in a Bernama news report.
