BEIJING, CHINA: At around 6pm today, Singapore will know if their long Olympic medal drought is over, The Straits Times reported.

If the Singapore team beats South Korea today, it will be guaranteed the silver medal. But should the match be lost, Singapore will go into a six-team play-off for the bronze.

As second seeds, Singapore had already been assured of avoiding top seeds China until the final, the English daily said.

However, Singapore still faces the toughest possible opponents in its silver medal bid with the South Koreans as opponents.

The Singapore women's team will face them in the semi-finals today at 2.30pm.

Watch this space for more updates as the results come in.
