New film to make display screens flexible
Tue, Apr 29, 2008
The Straits Times

SINGAPORE'S Institute of Materials Research and Engineering has come up with a film it says will revolutionise gadgets like mobile phone screens and solar cells in the future.

The government-funded research institute said the new film is flexible and will allow display screens and panels to be folded and thus, more portable.

Researchers at the institute are hoping to take their work to the marketplace by tying up with two companies, Kisco and G24Innovations.

The agreement with Japanese company Kisco was signed on Tuesday morning and will take the film to the Asia Pacific market.

The agreement with G24Innovations will develop the film for use in solar cells.
