Looking for high profile spouses?

S.KOREA - Even with high income, social status and family background, some singles struggle with finding their future spouses.

Sunwoo Inc., a major wedding consulting firm in Korea has created an index to rate singles as potential spouses.

It released the profiles of the male and female member with the highest ratings. But they still find it hard to find a mate, the company said.

A Korean man identified only by the surname Kim has been chosen as the highest-rated bachelor among men registered with the firm.

The 38-year-old manager at a foreign IT firm graduated from a prestigious management school in the United States. His assets already amount to more than 20 billion won ($8.46 million) and he earns 1 billion won a year, Sunwoo said.

One lady identified only by the surname Park has also been nominated as the highest-rated lady. She is a lawyer, and graduated from law school in the United States.

The 29-year-old single's annual salary reaches 150 million won and her assets are worth 14 billion won.

Even with their economically and socially successful careers, both Kim and Park said they still struggle with finding suitable partners and have ended up registering at the wedding consulting firm.

Why do people like them have trouble looking for a spouse?

"The higher the social, economical status, the harder he or she finds it to look for a partner by themselves," a Sunwoo official was quoted as saying.

"Friends of the singles with high profiles also do not feel easy about introducing eligible bachelors or bachelorettes to them," he said.
