He cast the late actor in an episode of his 2000 Malay television drama series, Koridor, based on the 1998 Singapore Literature Prize Commendation Award winner, Corridor: 12 Short Stories by writer Alfian Sa'at.

He played an elderly neighbour who helped a four-year-old girl look for her missing cat.

"He was so endearing and a great person to work with. This was a man who made me laugh so much with his comedies from the 1950s and 1960s and he was generous and kind in person."

His family says that he will be buried at Muslim cemetery Pusara Abadi at Lim Chu Kang this morning.
