Another body found at Bedok Reservoir

SINGAPORE - A body has been found at Bedok Reservoir this morning.

Police received a call at about 6.50am, and when officers arrived, they found the body of a man floating in the waters.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the police statement.

The man is believed to be Chinese and in his 30s.

Police have classified the case as unnatural death, and are conducting investigations.

This is the eighth reported death since June last year. The most recent case was reported in January.

Police received a call that a person was seen going into the water of the reservoir. The body of a man was found after a four-hour search on Jan 29, reported The Straits Times.

National water agency PUB has improved lighting around the area and installed signs with the helpline information of the Samaritans of Singapore.

On June 20, the body of Mr Lin Xiao, 23, was found floating the reservoir. The upper half of his body was missing.

Three months later on Sep 22, Ms Tan Sze Sze, 32, and her three-year-old son, Jerald Chin, were found dead in the reservoir, two days after they were reported missing by their family.

On the morning of Oct 11, the body of Indian construction worker, Mr Raman Selvam, was found two days after he was seen walking into the water.
