Why can't SMRT operate 24 hours?
Tue, Jan 29, 2008
AsiaOne

On Sunday morning the first train for the North-South starts at 6am.

It is way too late for those going to work in the East.

Why can't the train service start at 5.30am?

Usually the first train that arrives is crowded.

Also the waiting time at City Hall is about 8 minutes, it is way too long a duration.

8 minutes wasted waiting for the North-South arrival and another 8 minutes at City Hall to go to Tanah Merah.

Total time lost amount to 16 minutes. Is this efficient?

Why can't SMRT operate right through the night or 24 hours?

Regards,
Peter Chua
