Manhunt for Singapore Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) network leader
Thu, Feb 28, 2008
AsiaOne
>I am surprised to hear about the massive manhunt operation at the Whitley and Goldhill Estate vicinities this evening.

Questions raised:

1) Why was the leader of the Singapore JI network placed at the Whitley Detention Centre?
2) Is not Whitley Detention Centre a mere neighbourhood police post which is scarcely manned?
3) Why was the detainee not placed at the Changi Prison or at the Kampong Java Station?
4) How would a person who walks with a limp escape so quickly out of the police premises?
5) Why did the massive manhunt start so late.
6) Did the Police circulate the photo of the detainee promptly in order to seek the community's help on a "lookout"?

I would think the detainee would have made his escape out of the vicinity by now.

Regards,
Elina Chong Chen Sian
