'Atom smasher' puts Earth at risk
Fri, Sep 12, 2008
my paper

I REFER to the report, "Atom smasher" (my paper, Sept 11).

The scientists working on the project admit that it is an enormously complex undertaking, with the possibility for things to go wrong at any time.

Many other scientists are totally against this test and have raised their concerns about the impact of the experiment on the environment and the possibility of its triggering off natural disasters.

After reading a few articles on this undertaking, I fail to understand what good it can bring to mankind.

Scientists urge people to reduce the use of plastic and energy to save Earth but, ironically, they are putting Earth at risk with this test.
