Allow walking from checkpoint to Marsiling
Wed, Nov 25, 2009
my paper

RECENTLY, after I went through Woodlands Checkpoint, I wanted to walk to the nearby Marsiling estate.

However, there were no signs showing me the way.

My friend had been told by a policeman that walking to the nearby Woodlands Centre, which is close to Marsiling estate, is prohibited.

The only alternative, if you do not have a vehicle, is to take a public bus to Kranji MRT station.

It does not make sense to travel from Kranji to Marsiling as Marsiling is within walking distance from Woodlands Checkpoint.

Is there a walking route to Woodlands Centre and Marsiling for travellers who have cleared immigration?

MR NELSON QUAH
