Ex-NEA man should be caned

my paper

I READ with disgust reports on former National Environment Agency officer Koh Hui Chong.

He tried to get sexual favours from a 44-year-old woman in return for not taking action against her then 15-year-old son for underage smoking last year, but was reported to the police by the woman.

I applaud her for reporting Koh to the authorities.

Members of the public should be encouraged to report such cases so as to deter errant officers.

The four-month jail term for the crime was too lenient. It should have included caning.
