No need to endorse presidential candidates

Unions, clans, and other organisations should stop endorsing any of the presidential candidates.

What happens after the election is over? Will the organisations not support a new president who they did not endorse, or will they expect the person they have endorsed to feel beholden to them if he wins?

Also, when an organisation announces its endorsement of a candidate, does it mean that all its members, too, support the candidate fully?

Anybody who wants to support a candidate can do so by quietly volunteering his help in his personal capacity.

Only a handful of Singaporeans are eligible to be the president. Let the candidates' credentials speak for themselves.
