NEA looks into case of pest found in food

We refer to the letter, "Hard to Swallow" (The New Paper, Aug 6).

The National Environment Agency takes a serious view of pest infestation in food outlets.

Our officers investigated the case and found the walls of the stall to be greasy.

NEA has since issued the stallholder a ticket for the offence.

We have also advised the management of the food court to clean the premises thoroughly and to increase the frequency of pest control services.

Our officers will continue to monitor the situation.

Those who wish to provide feedback on hygiene at licensed eating places can call our 24 hour Call Centre at 1800-CALL NEA (1800-225 5632).

We thank the writer for the feedback.
