SOME 150 students engaged in diplomatic talks at the inaugural Dunman High Asean Plus 2008 conference, which started on Monday.
Held at the Singapore Management University, the three-day conference aims to simulate a real Asean summit.
The students will be discussing issues such as trans-boundary haze, bird flu, sea piracy, migrant labour issues and intellectual property rights.
The participants, between 16 and 18 years of age, are from local schools as well as countries such as South Korea, Brunei, Taiwan, India and Hong Kong.
The conference is the brainchild of a group of students from Dunman High who had attended a mock United Nations conference at Michigan State University last year.
