ARSENAL captain William Gallas said the Gunners are struggling mentally in the fight for the Premier League title.

Arsenal surrendered top spot to Manchester United at the weekend after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Middlesbrough.

It was Arsenal's fourth successive draw in the league and Gallas has questioned whether his team-mates have the mental strength to win the title.

The former Chelsea man believes Arsenal can afford no more slip-ups and need to win all their remaining games to secure the title.

'I'll tell you why there was a difference between the win in Milan (Champions League) and our next game. It was in the head,' Gallas was quoted as saying in The Sun.

'It is human nature that after a huge game in Europe it is difficult to find the same level of motivation for the following game.

'In fact what we needed was an even higher level than we had in Milan. We all have to understand that.

'And we have to understand it quickly because time is running out for us this season.

'We need to understand what it takes to become champions if we want that trophy.

'If you look at the table now, I'm not saying we're in trouble but we have lost our lead.

'So from now on we just have to think about ourselves, not look at the table any more. And we have to win every game.

'We need to have a high level of motivation from now until the end of the season.

'We have to give 200 per cent.'

Arsenal face a crucial few weeks as they visit fellow title challengers Chelsea on Sunday before three games in a week - including the two legs of their Champions League quarter-final - against Liverpool as well as a visit to Old Trafford on 13 Apr.
