SINGAPORE'S Mardan Mamat fell off the lead on the second day of BMW International in Munich yesterday. At press time, Mardan, who fired a six-under 66 on Thursday, was tied for fourth on one-under-par through 16 holes. He is six strokes behind local favourite Martin Kaymer, who set the early pace in the second round. The German shot a nine-under 63 for a total of 13-under 131. He had a five-stroke lead over England's Benn Barham and France's Francois Delamontagne. After a second successive 69, South Africa's Retief Goosen was six-under along with Paul Casey, David Howell and Ross Fisher. But John Daly's second 72 meant he was destined to miss the halfway cut on level par. Colin Montgomerie was in danger of bowing out early again as well when he stood on one-under with six to play, but two birdies quickly followed for a 71 and three-under total. -- Wire Services.
