WITH fading light and reduced visibility, there was still time for a piece of late drama at the Barclays Singapore Open yesterday.

Thailand's Chapchai Nirat saved his best for last when he fired a birdie and a spectacular eagle in his last two holes to open up a two-shot lead over local hero Lam Chih Bing, England's Simon Dyson and Denmark's Thomas Bjorn.

The burly golfer registered a birdie on the 10th hole before signing off with an eagle - two on the par-four 11th hole.

Chapchai's wedge shot from 118 yards landed on the front of the green before rolling into the hole.

The Thai is one of 45 players who will resume the third round this morning.

Asked how confident he is of winning the tournament, he said coyly: '95 per cent.'
