The New Paper

IT WILL be interesting to see how Singapore's three rookie professionals fare against the seasoned veterans in the Singapore Professional Golfers Association (SPGA) June circuit event at Sentosa today and tomorrow.

Quincy Quek, Justin Han and Mitchell Slorach have all turned pro in the last three months and this event will give them a gauge on their standing against the likes of Singapore's top two professionals, Lam Chih Bing and Mardan Mamat.

Also taking part are M. Murugiah, Poh Eng Wah and Gary Kwek, the three other Singaporeans who occasionally play in the Asian and Mercedes-Benz Tours.

Joining the strong field are Unho Park, the Singapore-based Australian who recently made the cut in a European Tour Satellite event in France, and Myanmarese Zaw Moe, a seasoned campaigner on the local circuit.

The SPGA are also inviting some amateurs for the two-day event, today at the Serapong course and tomorrow at the Tanjong course.
