Topless car wash: Organiser and models are to blame

I REFER to the report, "So bad, so angry, so degrading" about the controversy surrounding the topless car wash (The New Paper on Sunday, 25 Oct).

I feel both the organisers and the models have nobody to blame but themselves. The first mistake made by the organiser was not revealing all the details to the models. Why speak only to the models' agents? What the event was all about should have been explained to the models.

The second mistake was not to check the details of the models properly. Why hire the models without double-checking their details with their ICs?

I think the organiser has to shoulder some responsibility for this.

As for the girls, they cannot blame the organiser totally.

For instance, Angela, the China national who was expelled from her school, should have checked whether she was allowed to work here.

My advice to her is, when you are abroad, follow rules and regulations of that country. No wthat she has broken the rules, she has to face the consequences.

As for Belle, I have no sympathy for her. She was not honest about her age, and that was wrong.

Why lie to get a job? Doesn't she know that the law will catch up with her sooner or later? I would also like to highlight the grey area in which the event falls. Was it a private or public event?

To me, it seems to be more like a public event than a private one.

This is a serious matter and I would appreciate it if the authorities step in to investigate this case.
