JAKARTA, INDONESIA: Singapore Airlines (SIA) yesterday pledged to help promote Visit Indonesia Year 2008 after it was allowed on Aug 1 to add another flight to Bali, one of Indonesia's most lucrative routes.
Indonesia's Tourism Ministry, which is targeting a record seven million overseas visitors this year, signed a preliminary agreement yesterday with SIA to hold joint advertising and promotions overseas.
'We face high fuel costs and weakening economy in places like America; it's very challenging and difficult going forward,' said SIA executive vice-president for marketing and regions Huang Cheng Eng.
