Expect more wet days

THE heavy rains over the weekend are likely to continue until Wednesday at least, according to the National Environment Agency's Meteorological Services Division.

Morning showers with thunder are expected today, while those heading out should be prepared for late morning and early afternoon showers with thunder over the next two days.

August, which started out drier than usual, is now likely to surpass the 175.1mm average rainfall usual for the month, due to prevailing south-west monsoon conditions.
