Jaycee signs on with local label

By Boon Chan

Local indie music label Funkie Monkies Productions has signed on singer-songwriter Jaycee Chan, 25. The two-year deal was inked in Hong Kong last week.

The Los Angeles-born son of action superstar Jackie Chan and 1970s Taiwanese screen idol Lin Feng-chiao had previously worked with Funkie Monkies' producer-composer Eric Ng, 32, on his first Mandarin album, Unknowingly (2004).

'We worked together very happily,' said Chan in Mandarin at a press conference in Singapore on Wednesday. 'We've known each other for so many years, we wanted to make a fun album that we would enjoy doing and people would enjoy listening to.'
