ON A day when Qui Li's absence was uppermost in the thoughts of Singapore's footballers, it was fitting that his replacement shone.

Agu Casmir was not even supposed to start yesterday's friendly against Vietnam. But Tuesday's decision by Fifa regarding Qiu's eligibility forced national coach Raddy Avramovic to call on Casmir.

And how the 24-year-old responded before the 2,690-strong crowd in the 2-2 draw. He was the Lions' most potent attacking force at the Jurong East Stadium, holding the ball up well and tormenting the visitors with his angled running.
