A CORONER'S court yesterday went by the testimony of the one witness it had and found that it was high-speed, reckless driving that caused the death of a woman passenger in a horrendous car crash along Jurong Town Hall Road last August.

The car driver, off-duty policeman Raymond Ng Soon Kiat, also died in the accident. He was a corporal with the Dog Unit.

State Coroner Earnest Lau recorded a verdict of misadventure on Corporal Ng's death, but said he was responsible for the death of his girlfriend Lin Mei Yan, a 25-year-old private school student.
