ALSTOM Transport has clinched a contract to supply the tracks for the new Downtown Line.

The $238 million contract includes the design, installation of tracks and a power supply rail in the first and second stages of the project.

The 40km-long Downtown Line, with 33 stations, will link the north-west and eastern parts of Singapore to the Marina entertainment and financial districts. It is due for completion in 2016.
