MUSLIMS travelling to Mecca for the annual haj will now have to be vaccinated against the Influenza A (H1N1) virus, the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) said yesterday.

The new rule will take effect when the vaccine becomes available here, though it is still unclear when this will be.

Unless it arrives before November, which is when the last group of pilgrims depart from here, the rule will likely apply to travellers only from next year.
