HOURS after businessman Vernon Leong celebrated his wedding banquet at the Hilton Singapore, his family and friends found themselves preparing for his funeral.

The 31-year-old bridegroom was found early yesterday morning at the foot of the Orchard Road hotel. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at 3.35am.

Friends said it was his bride, Ms Kerin Peh, who sounded the alarm when he was not in their 10th-floor suite at the hotel after she emerged from the shower at about 2am.
