VOLUNTEERS and staff of Dover Park Hospice (DPH) spent a good part of Monday 'planting' 1,000 sunflowers at the open space near Raffles Place MRT Station.

They were hoping that by Sunday, when its inaugural Sunday Family Walk kicks off, the entire area would be blanketed by 10,000 sunflowers - paid for by donations from well-wishers.

But when they returned yesterday, the flowers were all gone - stolen.
