Dad, son fell to death

A 36-YEAR-OLD senior database administrator who fell to his death with his seven-year-old son left various suicide notes to family members and close friends.

A coroner's court heard that Mohamed Farook Ali Akbar, an Indian national and permanent resident here, had told his sister in a letter that he did it because of his health problem. His body and that of his son, Faheem Mohamed Farook, were found at the foot of Block 287 Bukit Batok East Avenue 3 on April 24.

Among the nine pieces of papers found in Farook's master bedroom in Bukit Batok was a letter to to his wife, Madam Aneez Fathima Mohamed Farook, 32, stating that he experienced chest pain and his concern about his health problem. He told her to be brave and encouraged her to remarry.
