New police chief in February

SINGAPORE will have a new police chief when current Police Commissioner Khoo Boon Hui passes the baton on to Director of Prisons Ng Joo Hee on Feb 1 next year.

Mr Ng, 43, is no stranger to the police force, having left it more than two years ago to lead the prisons.

In his 24 years in public service, he has held positions in various government ministries and the Internal Security Department.
