More transparent fee system for Middle Eastern patients
Thu, Nov 19, 2009
The Straits Times

THE Parkway group has found a possible solution to avoiding tussles of the sort it recently had with its patients from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who alleged overcharging.

It is proposing that if its doctors want to treat medical tourists from any Middle Eastern country, they will have to be transparent about the range of applicable fees.

They may also have to follow the fee guidelines set 20 years ago by the Singapore Medical Association - which are no longer used - and seek Parkway's approval to raise fees.
