NUH drops appeal and settles claim

THE medical negligence suit brought by the family of dead kidney donor Narindar Kaur against the National University Hospital (NUH) has been settled.

NUH had wanted to appeal against the judgment of the High Court in July, which held that the hospital was partly to blame for her death, but has decided against it.

It discontinued the appeal last month, after settling the quantum of damages through talks with the donor's bereaved husband and the family.
