Travel bargains

TILL Sunday, you can bid what you want to pay for a hotel room in China.

Travel website www.findmerooms.com - a product of Commonwealth Travel - is holding an auction of two-night, double occupancy hotel packages in three hotels, with breakfast included.

Here's how it works: If you bid $1 for a room in Hua Xia Hotel in Xiamen and that's the highest bid at that rate, you win the deal and pay $1 to stay in the hotel for two nights.

The maximum bid price is $68, compared to the usual room rate of $310 per night.

For Han Ting Hotel in Shanghai, the maximum bid price is $38 and the usual room rate is $128.

For Charms Hotel in Shanghai, the most you can bid is $118 and the usual rate is $288.

Bid on www.findmerooms.com/auction.php. Winners will be notified by May 27.

A FOUR-DAY Brunei holiday can be yours from $560 if you fly by Royal Brunei Airlines.

The airline has launched a free-and-easy package to the South-east Asian city that includes three nights' hotel stay and return Economy airfare on the carrier.

Prices range from $560 to $725 per person, based on twin-sharing, depending on which of the four hotels you pick from its list.

Also included in the price: daily breakfast, a buffet lunch, airport transfers, a half-day city tour and a sea sports package worth $110 - banana boat rides, parasailing and fly fishing are some of the activities offered.

Taxes and surcharges are not included.

The offer is for travel till Sept 30. Book by that day by calling 6235-4672.
