THE Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) is in talks to scrap restrictions on flights from their capitals to China.

Mr Choi Shing Kwok, permanent secretary at Singapore's Ministry of Transport, said this in a Bloomberg TV interview broadcast on Monday.

As growing trade with the 10-nation bloc boosts air-travel demand, Asean will also seek to widen any agreement to other destinations. Mr Choi said Asean wants a similar deal with India.
