SIA introduces fuel surcharge differentiation by cabin class

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will lower fuel surcharges across all routes, and introduce a differentiated surcharge based on cabin class.

The reductions, which will apply to tickets issued on or after Nov 7, is "in line with the recent sustained fall in the price of jet fuel", said SIA in a statement.

Besides the length of the journey, the surcharge levels will hereafter also take into account the class of travel.

"This is to fairly impute fuel related cost since the space occupied and weight utilised in each class is different," added the carrier.
