PETALING JAYA, MALAYSIA: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will offer 20 extra domestic and international flights for travel between Jan 23 and Feb 1 for the Chinese New Year festivities.

In a statement, MAS announced that the additional flights are currently on sale and cover return flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching and between Johor Baru and Kuching.

The extra international flights are return flights between Kota Kinabalu and Hong Kong and Kota Kinabalu and Taipei.

Meanwhile, MAS subsidiary Firefly is offering 40 extra flights from Subang and Penang to four destinations - Kota Baru, Medan, Koh Samui and Phuket - for travel between Jan 24 and 31.

The statement also said that Firefly would introduce its second weekly flight, the Penang-Medan route, from Jan 24.
