Pie in the sky

Take a popular snack biscuit, thrust it at a group of Japanese junk food engineers and you can be sure they'd do something unusual with it.

Black, crisp Oreo cookies with the white icing in the middle get turned into chocolate pies in this Japanese version.

Biting into one is like biting into a chocolate-dipped marshmallow. The strawberry filling in the middle is way better than the overly sweet white filling of the original sandwich cookie.

Unhealthy? Yes. But so fun to eat.

Oreo Chocolate pie, $5.50 for a pack of six, from Yamakawa Super, B1-28B The Central, 6 Eu Tong Sen Street. Opening hours: 11am to 10pm daily.
