Malaysians not keen on TV meals
Fri, Dec 21, 2007
The Star

CONTRARY to what some may believe, Malaysians do not like to watch television while having their meals.

China Press reported a survey conducted recently by Electrolux in nine Asian countries showed that only 14% of Malaysians watched television while having meals.

However, 66% of Japanese had their meals in front of the television, followed by Vietnamese (61%) and Thais (43%).

One thousand people from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia took part in the survey.

The survey also showed that 54% of Asians considered breakfast the most important meal of the day.

Most Asians also preferred to have their breakfast at home.
